Well I finally finished the project for my dining room window. It is not quite like the inspiration photo in the post below. I did not want to cover up the beautiful mouldings so I did not do panels, just the cornice and overlay. I am still waiting on some rosettes to be delivered, but here it is. I love it and think it turned out beautifully.

Isn't Technology Wonderful
Gone are the days of designers having to draw by hand a design for your windows. Todays technology lets you take a digital photo of a window and superimpose a design complete with fabric choices onto it. In fact you can try several designs on the same photo. No more does the client have to imagine how the beautiful design will look on their window. They can see it right there in technicolor. I used this technology for my latest client to help her decide between 3 different embellishments on a valance.
Seeing the options right there on her windows made her selection much easier. When paying for custom products, the unknown can be daunting. Seeing what the final product will look like can help ease the clients mind.
How did the treatment turn out you ask?
I'll let you decide.Tuesday, October 16, 2007
New Project
Well I thought I would start a blog detailing some of the projects I will be working on. The next project will be one for myself. We have been in this house 4 months and I have only done 1 window for myself. Here is an example of the treatment I will be doing for my dining room.
We will see how my version turns out.
